New paediatric lead joins AKA

We are delighted to announce that we now have a paediatric lead who will enhance the case management services and support we provide for children and their families.

Mary Gillman has joined us as Paediatric Clinical Case Manager. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge as a paediatric practitioner. She will be based in Manchester but will be working proactively with Case Managers and teams across the UK to share her expertise and support them with any referrals involving children and young people.

Aside from paediatrics, her others areas of specialism are complex care, epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy. Mary is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is a Registered Practitioner Member of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM) and was joint chair of the BABICM Children and Young People Sub-Group.

Outside of her day job, Mary somehow finds time to organise her own trips volunteering around the world, mostly working with children and their extended families! She also volunteers for a children’s charity for vulnerable children and teenagers.

Mary is a member of the Royal College of Nursing and is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and AKA is proud to welcome her to our team in the North West as a Paediatric Clinical Case Manager. This team will be further strengthened by the addition of another Case Manger in April.
