Support Worker (Prenton)

Job Title: Support Worker/carer

Location: Prenton, The Wirral

Hours:

  • 24-hour cover required, 12 hour day/waking night shifts and short shifts
  • Part time/variable hours to cover annual leave, family holidays and sickness.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable people with a positive outlook to support and to teamwork. You will be required to care for our 18-year-old male client, in his home, education setting and out and about within the area. DUTIES:

Your duties will include:

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications: NVQ level 3 preferred, but not essential.

Experience:

Skills: Flexibility, team working, excellent communication, understands professional boundaries.

Support Worker (Hathersage)

Job Title: Support Worker   

Location: Hathersage

Salary:  £11.91 per hour (social) 8am-6pm / £13.52 per hour (unsocial) 6pm-8am / weekends

Hours:  24 hours plus,  must be flexible to cover sickness and annual leave  

Due to the nature of the role the ideal candidate must be female.

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic, punctual, reliable and motivated individual, who has a positive outlook to work within our team. They will be required to support our client and team in her home and the community. You will be working with our 29 year-old client who enjoys socialising, attending the day-centre, music and peer groups, ten pin bowling, ball games, trampolining hydrotherapy, shopping and eating out in pubs and café’s.

DUTIES:

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting the client to attend social groups and community activities.
  • To work alongside the therapy team to provide carry over of therapy programmes.
  • Supporting the client with all aspects of personal care.
  • To support and manage the clients challenging behaviour.
  • To support the client in daily living skills.
  • Liaise with the case manager and family

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications:  Care certificate and NVQ would be an advantage but not essential.

Experience: We particularly welcome applications from people with experience with learning disabilities or caring background.

Skills: excellent communication skills, excellent observational skills to identify signs of physical and emotional problems, the ability to stay calm and in control in difficult situations and to be able to work within a family setting.
