Family Support Worker – Northamptonshire

Job Title: Family Support Worker Location: Northamptonshire (NN6)

Salary: Weekday hours: £14 per hour, weekend hours: £16 per hour, sleeping night £9.50 per hour

Hours: part time/variable hours/weekend and evenings/sleepovers

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic, reliable individual, who has a positive outlook, to work within our team. They will be required to support our client in his home within the Northamptonshire area. You will be working with our 13-year-old client who enjoys being busy, active, and trying new activities. The role offers a friendly and fully adapted, working environment, supportive team, and generous rates of pay.

Term time: Mondays 14:30 – 20:00 (5.5 hrs), Fridays 15:00 – 18:00 (3 hrs)

School Holidays: Monday 16:00 – 21:00 (5 hrs), Wednesday 14:30 – 21:00 (6.5 hrs), Thursday 16:00 – 21:00 (5 hrs), Friday 08:00 – 18:00 (10 hrs)

All year round: Alternate weekends from Saturday 16:30 to Sunday 14:00 (including sleeping night)

The above hours are flexible, and we would consider job share for candidates seeking less hours. Additional hours are available to cover staff holidays/sickness.

Your duties will include:

• Providing personal care for the client

• Enabling the client to make the most of his independence in all tasks

• Initiating a range of fun and stimulating activities and supporting him with activities

• Finding suitable local activities and planning trips out

• Providing therapeutic activities, such as those recommended by physiotherapist to develop skills

• Helping client develop his skills, such as expanding his vocabulary

• Liaising with support team and family

Person Specification

Experience: We particularly welcome applications from people with experience in care, therapy or education.

Skills: Able to provide high standard of personal care, proactive, good communicator, able to work on own initiative, organised and reliable.

Therapy Support Worker/Support Worker – Solihull (West Midlands)

Job Title: Therapy Support Worker/Support Worker

Location: Solihull (West Midlands)

Salary: Social Rate £11.50 per hour Un-Social and Weekends £13.50 per hour. 

Hours: To work various shifts morning (7am – 1pm) and late afternoon early evenings (3pm – 9pm) this will include weekends on a rota system. Candidates with a flexible approach to hours/pattern of work is desirable on a part time/full time basis.

Candidates We are looking for enthusiastic/sociable, reliable, and motivated individuals, who have a positive outlook to working within our team. They will be required to support our client in her home within the Solihull area and out in the community. You will be working with a 62 year-old female client who enjoys a joke and humorous engagement from those who work with her.

Music/Attending concerts

Theatre trips

Days out in the community

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with activities of daily living, including personal care
  • Accompanying to social events/activities/appointments
  • Providing carry over of therapy programmes/working alongside of therapists
  • Supporting the client to reach their goals
  • Provide person centred care in line with the care plans
  • Transfers via return board/foldable hoist (dependent on health)
  • Preparing meals/shopping

Person specification:

Qualifications:  NVQ level 2 (preferable) alternatively Care Certificate.

Experience: We particularly welcome applications from people with previous experience in care/support work.

Skills/Potential: The candidates would need to have a good level of spoken, verbal and written communication to capture information from the support sessions and relay any concerns which may need to be highlighted to senior management. Transferable skills to enable person centred care and support to increase the client’s quality of life.
