Job Title: Rehabilitation Support Worker

Salary: £14.00 per hour (Social hours Monday – Friday 9am -6pm)
Hours: Part time – 15 hours per week (weekdays) days and times to be agreed. Although some flexibility is needed to offer support to the client, in relation to attendance to and from appointments, meetings and social events.
Candidate Criteria:
We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual with an outgoing personality, who has excellent time management, organisation, and planning skills. Also, someone who can manage, direct a structured session of support to keep the client on track in their achievement of short- and long-term goals. It would be advantageous for the candidate to have some knowledge, experience of working with clients who have sustained an Acquired Brain Injury resulting in executive functioning difficulties.
We also require a motivated and reliable individual who has a positive outlook to work within our newly formed Multi-Disciplinary Team. The successful candidate will need to support our client in her home within the Loughborough area and out in the community. All therapeutic goals and strategies introduced by treating therapists would be shared and implementation of these during sessions by the successful candidate would be essential.
Client Details:
You will be working with our 45-year-old female client, who is generally in good health and lives alone in the community with informal support from family. She is a good communicator and independently mobile. She struggles to remain on track in conversation and to organise and plan her day to achieve tasks. The client is very spiritual, and this is highly important to her. She is very keen on yoga and meditation, loves cooking, music and art. The client is keen to return to paid or voluntary work as a long-term goal.
Duties/Roles/Responsibilities will include –
Support with structuring her day and achieving daily activities of daily living including:
- Checking calendar and organising travel to appointments/events
- Planning meals and mealtimes
- Implementing and practising strategies as advised by OT/Neuropsychology
- Encouragement of exercises provided by Speech and Language therapist.
- Review and responding to emails.
- Budgeting and financial management, support to pay bills.
- Management of paperwork
- Organising tradespeople for any house maintenance/repairs
- Support with ordering management of medication supplies/dosage
- Management/planning of meals (not actually preparing them)
Access to community activities
- Planning and organising route.
- Engaging in social activities such as singing, art, yoga, and the gym
- Support with completion online course
- Motivation to engage the client with activities.
- Support the client in management of their emotions.
Time Management
- Supporting the client with staying on track with task completion
- Arrangements for travel
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications: NVQ level 2 or above/completion of Care Certificate Desirable
Experience: We particularly welcome applicants with Rehabilitation, Support Worker experience, some experience of Acquired Brain Injury and executive functioning difficulties is desirable but not essential.
Skills: Along with those already mentioned the successful candidate would also need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Regular report writing following sessions is needed, and capturing of information as requested.

Special Requirements: Car driver preferable, but also someone who is happy to walk, use public transport, plan and organise trips with the client.
Also, an understanding of the Hindu faith would be advantageous but not essential.
