Vacancy 1: Support Worker
Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Great Harwood
Salary: Weekdays £15.00 per hour, Weekends £16.00 per hour
Hours: Part-time – 19 hours per week during term time (39 weeks of the year) and 26 hours per week during school holidays (13 weeks per year); you will be working on a rolling rota
We are looking for a bright/enthusiastic, sociable/adventurous/punctual/reliable/motivated individual who has a positive outlook to work with our client. You will be required to support our client in her home within the Great Harwood area. You will be working with our 11-year-old client who enjoys living life to the fullest, days out with the family and support workers.
The family have dogs, so you must be comfortable around big dogs.
DUTIES:
Your duties will include:
- Assisting with activities of daily living
- Accompanying to social events/activities
- Providing carry over of therapy programmes
- Working alongside therapist
- Help reach their goals
- Provide personal care
- Medical appointments
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications: NVQ not essential.
Experience: We particularly welcome applications from people with experience in care.

Three vacancies:
2 x Therapy Support Workers x 3 – 12-hour night shifts (as per the rota)
1 x Educational/community assistant x 3 – 12-hour day shifts (as per the rota)
Location: Telford
Salary: £16.50 per hour, and double time will be paid for bank holidays.
We are looking for fun-loving, bubbly, self-motivated and driven individuals with care/support experience to work with our client in the family home that he shares with his parents and younger sibling. Our client has expressed that it is important for him to source candidates who can be “buddies”, not just support/care workers. The successful candidates will be required to provide our client, who is an 18-year-old male, with 1-1 and 2-1 support. The client has motor development delay, focal epilepsy and a shunt to control hydrocephalus.
At times our client may need encouragement to participate, complete routines and engage in therapy, which has been identified as important for his rehabilitation. Our client is a full-time electric/manual wheelchair user, he has limited movement in his left arm and hand but is still able to enjoy using his gaming consoles, gaming and banter is an important part of our clients daily routine. The client also collects Squishmallows, enjoys listening to a variety of music genres, and supports Manchester United. Our client is reliant on support for transfers, personal care, accessing the community, shopping, attending college, activities, and appointments.
Duties: This list is not exhaustive –
- Assisting with activities of daily living, offering choices and support with decision-making.
- Promoting independence and encouraging participation.
- Supporting the client with activities; cooking, gardening, shopping and baking.
- Support with completion of any vocational and educational programmes.
- Engaging with the client as he enjoys friendly banter, especially around football.
- Challenging the client on his gaming console.
- Communicating effectively with the client and sharing any concerns with the family.
- Accompanying the client to social activities and appointments in line with parental request.
- Providing personal care using appropriate moving-and-handling techniques.
- Undertake mandatory and bespoke training in line with clients’ needs and requirements.
- Following the support plan and risk assessments.
- Completing therapy transfer following appropriate training from professionals.
- Completing daily records of support sessions.
- Supporting the client out in the community using the WAV.
Qualifications/Experience: NVQ level 2 or equivalent would be preferable, although relevant experience of working and supporting in a similar setting (1-1/2-1) is necessary.
Special Requirements: Car driver is essential.

Vacancy 3: Waking Night Support
Location: Sutton Coldfield
Salary: £15.00-£16.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Shift Pattern: Sunday – Friday 8 pm – 8 am (rota system)
We are looking for experienced Paediatric support workers who are reliable, flexible, and motivated individuals to work with our client. Providing 1-to-1 and 2-to-1 support within the family home. You will be working with a 5-year-old non-verbal female client with no voluntary movement who enjoys music, Barbies, sensory engagement, switch toys and her fluffy pets, hamsters and kittens. The client has complex care needs; although an NG tube is in place, this is only for hydration and medication administration. The client is fed a pureed diet orally from a spoon, as instructed by the private speech and language therapist; a dietitian is in place. The client is reliant on support for transfers, engagement and all activities of daily living. Due to personal care support, the family have requested female candidates only, with experience in paediatric complex care.
Duties:
- Assisting with activities of daily living; time appropriate, bedtime, morning routine.
- Use your own initiative regarding medical interventions and escalate when appropriate.
- Providing implementation of therapeutic programmes as directed by professionals.
- Provide personal care, complete washing and dressing routines, and apply sleep system.
- Undertake mandatory and bespoke training in line with clients’ needs and requirements.
- Provide management of seizures, administration of recovery medication as and when required.
- Observations and monitoring throughout the night.
- Preparing meal blends as guided by the client’s mum and offering suitable hydration and flushes.
- Administering of prescribed and PRN medication as per the client support plan and eMAR chart.
- Reporting all concerns to the client’s case management team and her mum.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and become familiar with the client’s communication style.
- Provide support with nasal suctioning when required.
Person specification: Due to personal care needs, the family have requested female candidates only.
Qualifications/Experience: NVQ level 2 or equivalent would be preferred but not essential; relevant experience of working with complex care in Paediatrics is preferable. Successful candidate would preferably have a nursing or specialist rehab facility background and awareness and confidence to support client with their NG tube/seizures and complex medical needs.
