Salary: Weekday waking hours: £15 per hour, Weekend waking hours: £17 per hour, Sleep-in hours: £12.21 per hour
Hours:
All year round: 1 x Saturday per month – 8:00 – 16:30
School Holidays: Wednesdays – 14:00 – 21:00, Thursdays – 12:00 – 16:00
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic, reliable individual, who has a positive outlook, to work within our team. They will be required to support our client in his home within the Northamptonshire area. You will be working with our 16-year-old client who enjoys being busy, active, and trying new activities. The role offers a friendly and fully adapted, working environment, supportive team, and generous rates of pay.
We would consider job-share for candidates who are interested but cannot fulfil all the above hours. Additional hours may be available to cover staff holidays/sickness.
DUTIES:
Your duties will include:
- Providing personal care for the client and ensuring his safety
- Enabling the client to make the most of his independence in all tasks
- Initiating a range of fun and stimulating activities and supporting him with activities
- Providing therapeutic activities, such as those recommended by physiotherapist to develop skills
- Helping client develop his skills, such as expanding his vocabulary
- Liaising with support team and family
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Experience: We particularly welcome applications from people with experience in care, therapy or education
Skills: Able to provide high standard of personal care, proactive, good communicator, able to work on own initiative, organised and reliable

Paediatric Personal Assistant Minimum 36 Hours (Wolverhampton)

Job Title: Paediatric Personal Assistant Minimum 36 Hours
Location: Wolverhampton Area
Salary £15.00 per hour.
Shift Pattern: 12 hour Waking Nights working 3 days out of 7 (Flexibility required) 36 hours.
We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Personal Assistant who is reliable, flexible, and a motivated individual to work within our team, providing 1 to 1 support within the family home. You will be working with an 8-year-old female client who enjoys going to the cinema, experiencing nature walks and watching films. The client has complex care needs and is PEG fed, non-verbal with no voluntary movement so is reliant on support for transfer and engagement. Due to personal care the family have requested female candidates only, with experience in complex care.
Duties:
- Assisting with activities of daily living that are age appropriate.
- Use own initiative on medical intervention and escalate when appropriate.
- Providing implementation of therapeutical programmes.
- Provide personal care and complete washing and dressing routines.
- Undertake mandatory and bespoke training in line with clients’ needs and requirements.
- Provide suctioning as and when required.
- Observations and monitoring throughout the night.
- Management of client seizures.
- Preparing blends for mealtimes.
- Administering morning medication.
Person specification: Due to personal care needs family have requested female candidates only.
Qualifications/Experience: NVQ level 2 or equivalent would be preferred but not essential, relevant experience of working with complex care in paediatrics and waking night experience is needed.
Successful candidate would preferably have a nursing or specialist rehab facility background and awareness and confidence to support client with their suctioning/PEG/seizures and complex medical needs.
Special Requirements: Car driver preferred but not essential (Client has their own vehicle at the Paediatric Personal Assistant’s disposal while on shift).
