We have received a fantastic update from Janine Ricketts about the Broadway Wanderers, the U10’s grassroots football team that we support. It has been an incredible 25/26 season for them, and we always love to hear how they are doing.
The season didn’t start the way they had hoped. It was a tough opening period, but through sheer effort, hard work, and determination, the boys showed unbelievable character. Week by week, they improved, supported one another, and grew stronger as a team and what a turnaround it was!
They are incredibly proud to say that the lads went on to win the Walsall Junior Youth Football League (WJYL), becoming Cup Winners for their division this season. A massive achievement and one they fully earned through resilience and commitment.
Their dedication has been outstanding. The boys have committed to two training sessions every single week, alongside the dedication and time given by the coaching team. That consistency, attitude, and hunger to improve has truly paid off.
To top off an already brilliant season, they recently attended the ESF Football tournament at Butlins Skegness, competing against teams from all over the country. It was a fantastic bonding experience for the players, coaches, and parents alike. The boys represented themselves, the club, and their sponsors superbly and came home with their trophy and awards presented by former England striker Jermaine Defoe and England Lioness Jordan Nobbs, an unforgettable moment for them all.
This season has been a true reflection of resilience, passion, teamwork, and belief.
