Before joining AKA in August 2014, Lauren worked in a supportive role with a brain-injured client, having previously worked for a national charity working with people with learning difficulties.
With a City & Guilds Level 4 Award Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, as well as a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and a Level 3 Administer Medication to Individuals and Monitor the Effects, Lauren has undertaken training including epilepsy awareness, managing challenging behaviour, safeguarding, infection control and blood borne viruses.
Lauren has also worked in the antiques trade, travelling around the country doing antiques fayres. Having an Honours Degree in Applied Print (Art & Design) Lauren loves going to art exhibitions, playing the guitar and listening to live music. Living rurally works well with Lauren’s love of the outdoors and nature, where she indulges in a bit of gardening, swimming, cycling and on a less active note, drawing. Sounds like a great balancing act Lauren.
